- Intellectual Property and Ownership
John Edit Lab LLC respects the intellectual property rights of its clients and maintains a clear distinction between the client’s raw materials, the final edited deliverables, and the company’s own technical resources.
2.1 Ownership of Client’s Raw Materials
Intellectual property rights for all videos, images, audio, trademarks, text, and other raw materials provided by the client remain with the client or the respective legal rights holder.
The client warrants that all materials provided have been duly authorized for use and do not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, portrait rights, or any other legal rights of any third party.
2.2 Ownership of Final Edited Deliverables
Upon full payment of the service fees as stipulated in the order, John Edit Lab LLC shall transfer to the client the relevant economic rights (copyright) and agreed-upon intellectual property rights pertaining to the final deliverables—specifically those created independently by the company and capable of being legally transferred. The scope of the transfer includes—to the extent permitted by applicable law—the rights of reproduction, distribution, communication to the public via information networks, adaptation, and other agreed-upon commercial usage rights.
The client is entitled to use, publish, display, reproduce, disseminate, and commercially exploit the final, paid-for edited deliverables within the scope permitted by law, without any obligation to pay additional copyright fees for such use.
With respect to rights that cannot be transferred by law, the Company agrees—to the fullest extent permitted by law—not to exercise such rights in a manner that would hinder the client’s use of the final deliverables in accordance with these terms.
2.3 Intellectual Property Retained by the Company
John Edit Lab LLC retains full ownership of its proprietary editing techniques, workflows, software tools, general templates, presets, technical methodologies, and any other intellectual property that it owned or independently developed prior to the commencement of the project.
Such foundational resources are not transferred to the client as a result of the client’s purchase of editing services.
2.4 Third-Party Assets and Licensed Content
If the final work incorporates third-party music, fonts, images, video footage, plug-ins, or other content subject to licensing restrictions, the rights to such elements remain governed by the original licensors’ agreements.
The client’s use of the final deliverables must comply with the terms and conditions set forth by the respective third-party licensors.
2.5 Showcase and Promotion
John Edit Lab LLC will not use the client’s private project materials or final deliverables in its public portfolio, advertisements, social media promotions, or for any other commercial display purposes without the client’s prior express written consent.
- Payment Terms
The client shall pay the applicable service fees as specified on the website’s order page or in a quotation confirmed by both parties.
All service prices, applicable charges, and payment terms will be clearly displayed or communicated to the client prior to order confirmation.
Payments may be processed via third-party payment services, supporting credit cards, debit cards, and other payment methods currently accepted on the website.
The client is responsible for ensuring that all payment information provided is true, accurate, and that they possess the necessary authorization to make such payments.
Should the client request additional editing work, significant revisions, or new project components that fall outside the scope of the original order, the Company may provide a separate quotation; such additional work will commence only upon the client’s confirmation and payment of the corresponding fees.
4. One-Time Purchase and Billing Policy
John Edit Lab LLC provides video editing services on a per-order basis, utilizing a one-time sale and one-time payment model.
Billing terms are as follows:
When purchasing services, the client shall pay a one-time fee as indicated on the order page.
Each order constitutes an independent purchase of services; it does not involve monthly subscriptions, annual memberships, or auto-renewing services.
Following the completion of a payment, the company will not initiate any recurring charges related to that order.
There are no automatic renewals, automatic upgrades, or recurring billing arrangements that occur without the client’s explicit, separate confirmation.
Should the client wish to purchase additional video editing services in the future, they must submit a new order and provide fresh authorization for payment.
If a client requests services that fall outside the scope of the original order, any additional costs will be clearly communicated and subject to the client’s prior consent.
Important Billing Note: Each order is a standalone, one-time transaction. Clients are only required to pay the fees for their confirmed orders; there are no unauthorized automatic renewals or recurring charges.
- Project Revisions and Client Cooperation
At the time of order submission, the client must provide clear, accurate video editing requirements and all necessary raw materials (source footage).
The company will perform the editing work in accordance with the project requirements agreed upon by both parties.
Clients may request reasonable revisions, subject to the limits on the number of revisions and the scope of services specified in the order.
If, after a project has commenced, the client requests a change in the original creative direction, the addition of a significant amount of new material, a change in video duration, or other services not included in the original scope, the company reserves the right to re-evaluate the workload and provide a quote for the additional work.
Clients are expected to provide necessary materials, feedback, and confirmations in a timely manner to avoid unnecessary project delays.
- Service Delivery
Completed video files will be delivered via a digital method agreed upon by both parties—such as email, a file download link, or another mutually accepted online transfer channel.
The format, resolution, duration, and other technical specifications of the delivered files shall be as stipulated in the order.
It is the client’s responsibility to provide accurate, valid contact information and to monitor for delivery notifications.
- Refunds and Order Cancellations
Requests for refunds or order cancellations will be reviewed based on the project’s progress, the work already completed, the terms specified in the order, and applicable laws. If a project has not yet commenced, the client may request an order cancellation in accordance with the applicable refund policy.
If a project has already begun, the company will determine the refund amount based on the actual work completed and the applicable refund rules.
If a project has been completed and delivered, any refund request will be handled in accordance with the terms of the order and applicable law.
If the company is unable to provide the purchased services as agreed, it will offer a reasonable remedy based on the specific circumstances—such as re-performing the service or, where applicable, issuing a refund.
Nothing in any refund policy shall limit the non-waivable rights to which consumers are entitled under the law.
- Acceptable Use and Prohibited Conduct
When using the services of John Edit Lab LLC, clients must comply with all applicable laws and regulations and are prohibited from engaging in the following activities:
Submitting or requesting the creation of content that infringes upon the copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights of third parties.
Using the likeness, recordings, private videos, or personal data of others without authorization.
Creating videos that involve fraud, scams, malicious impersonation, or misleading commercial promotion.
Creating or distributing content that is unlawful, threatening, harassing, or otherwise inappropriate.
Using the website or services to distribute malware, harmful files, or carry out cyberattacks.
Purchasing services through the use of a false identity, unauthorized payment methods, or other fraudulent means.
Engaging in any other activities that violate applicable laws while using our services.
In the event of a violation of the above provisions, John Edit Lab LLC reserves the right to take the following actions, depending on the circumstances:
Requiring the client to modify or remove the problematic content.
Suspending the production or delivery of the relevant project.
Refusing to continue providing services for a project that violates the law or service terms.
Canceling the relevant order, to the extent permitted by law.
Taking necessary legal action regarding any suspected unlawful conduct.
- Client Responsibilities
Clients must ensure that all materials submitted and project requirements provided are authentic, lawful, and that all necessary permissions for their use have been obtained.
Clients are responsible for the content they provide and the corresponding authorizations.
Should any claims, disputes, or losses arise because the materials provided by a client infringe upon the legal rights of a third party, or because the client has violated the law, the client shall bear liability to the extent permitted by applicable law.
- Limitation of Liability
John Edit Lab LLC will take reasonable measures to provide video editing services that meet the requirements specified in the order. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Company shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, or special damages arising from force majeure, third-party platform failures, network interruptions, the provision of incorrect information by the client, or any other circumstances beyond the Company’s reasonable control.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Company’s total aggregate liability in connection with any specific order shall not exceed the service fees actually paid by the client for that order.
The aforementioned limitations of liability do not apply to liabilities that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including those arising from intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or other circumstances for which liability cannot be waived under applicable law.
- Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute between the client and John Edit Lab LLC regarding services, payments, project delivery, or intellectual property rights, both parties shall first seek to resolve the matter through amicable communication.
If the parties are unable to reach an agreement through negotiation, they may consider voluntary mediation, other alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes mutually agreed upon by both parties, or initiating legal proceedings in a court of competent jurisdiction.
Nothing in these dispute resolution arrangements shall limit the client’s right to file complaints with relevant regulatory authorities or to seek legal remedies as provided by applicable law.
- Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the U.S. state in which John Edit Lab LLC is registered, subject to any mandatory consumer protection provisions under applicable law.
For disputes where the parties are permitted by law to agree on jurisdiction, both parties consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts with legal authority over the matter.
- Amendments to Terms
John Edit Lab LLC reserves the right to update these Terms of Service to reflect business developments, service adjustments, or changes in laws and regulations.
For orders that have already been confirmed, the specific service and payment terms in effect at the time of order confirmation shall not be retroactively altered by subsequent general updates to these Terms, unless otherwise required by law or agreed upon in writing by both parties.
